{"id":58955,"date":"2012-09-12T14:03:33","date_gmt":"2012-09-12T12:03:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=58955"},"modified":"2012-09-12T14:04:44","modified_gmt":"2012-09-12T12:04:44","slug":"mweb-adsl-network-performance-indicators","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/adsl\/58955-mweb-adsl-network-performance-indicators.html","title":{"rendered":"MWEB ADSL network performance indicators"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"MWEB\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/226947-MWeb\">MWEB<\/a> has released its <a title=\"ADSL\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/224881-ADSL\">ADSL<\/a> key performance indicators (KPIs) for April 2012 to June 2012, providing details about their latency, packet loss and jitter over the reporting period.<\/p>\n<p>The ADSL KPIs are a requirement of the ADSL regulations which were published on 17 August 2006 by the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (<a title=\"ICASA\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/462443-Independent-Communications-Authority-of-South-Africa-(ICASA)\">ICASA<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The regulations require Telkom and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to publish, on a quarterly basis, Key Performance Indicators (KPI) detailing at the least, packet loss, average latency and jitter for the provisioned ADSL service.<\/p>\n<p>Most ADSL providers do not publish this information, but MWEB is abiding by the regulator&#8217;s guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>The following table provides an overview of the latest Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from MWEB.
