{"id":592559,"date":"2025-04-25T10:21:52","date_gmt":"2025-04-25T08:21:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=592559"},"modified":"2025-04-25T14:09:48","modified_gmt":"2025-04-25T12:09:48","slug":"nedbank-and-investec-payday-outages","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/banking\/592559-nedbank-and-investec-payday-outages.html","title":{"rendered":"Nedbank and Investec payday outages"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Nedbank and Investec customers reported issues accessing the banks&#8217; mobile apps and online banking on Friday, April 25, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outage tracking website <a href=\"http:\/\/downdetector.co.za\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"http:\/\/downdetector.co.za\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Downdetector<\/a> showed a surge in reports from Nedbank users starting around 09:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">Several Nedbank customers on X\/Twitter&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/search?q=Nedbank&amp;src=typed_query&amp;f=live\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">complained<\/a>&nbsp;that their online banking and the Nedbank Money app wer<\/span>e not working or were very slow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One customer who spoke to MyBroadband was able to log into the mobile app but said that it took an unusually long time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In feedback to MyBroadband, Nedbank denied the issues amounted to an outage and said it was experiencing &#8220;slow response times&#8221; on its banking channels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Our technology teams are busy with resolving the issue,&#8221; Nedbank said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is at least the second major Nedbank outage in a month, with the previous incident occurring on <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/banking\/589204-nedbank-payday-outage.html\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/banking\/589204-nedbank-payday-outage.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">31 March 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports about issues with Investec&#8217;s mobile banking app and online banking started at roughly 08:30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investec support agents <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Investec\/status\/1915675753565335815\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Investec\/status\/1915675753565335815\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">acknowledged<\/a> the bank was experiencing technical issues in response to its customers&#8217; complaints. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Our digital team is currently looking into this matter, and we&#8217;ll let you know once the issue has been resolved. We apologise for the inconvenience,&#8221; they said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investec subsequently told MyBroadband the issue was resolved just after 14:00 on Friday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The graphs below show the
