{"id":60183,"date":"2012-09-19T11:17:40","date_gmt":"2012-09-19T09:17:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=60183"},"modified":"2012-09-19T14:28:25","modified_gmt":"2012-09-19T12:28:25","slug":"amazon-shutdown-endless-com","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/technology\/60183-amazon-shutdown-endless-com.html","title":{"rendered":"Amazon shutdown Endless.com"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Amazon.com Inc\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/356046-Amazon\">Amazon.com Inc<\/a> is closing its fashion website endless.com as the world&#8217;s largest Internet retailer focuses on a new, upgraded apparel and accessories section of its main website.<\/p>\n<p>On September 27, endless.com will become part of Amazon.com\/Fashion, according to a statement on the front page of endless.com on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Endless.com was launched in 2007, specializing mainly in women&#8217;s shoes and handbags.<\/p>\n<p>Starting next week, endless.com said customers will be able to buy shoes, handbags, jewelry and watches from more brands from Amazon&#8217;s main website, along with apparel.<\/p>\n<p>The switch is part of a big push by Amazon this year to expand further into fashion and apparel, one of the fastest-growing retail categories online. <a title=\"EBay Inc\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/360842-eBay\">EBay Inc<\/a>, Amazon&#8217;s main rival, has done well with its fashion offerings in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are shifting our Endless business to Amazon in order to focus on the Amazon Fashion experience,&#8221; an Amazon spokesman said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Zappos\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/396763-Zappos\">Zappos<\/a> and <a title=\"Shopbop\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/466991-Shopbop\">Shopbop<\/a>, two other fashion websites owned by Amazon, are staying.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Between Amazon, Shopbop and Zappos, our customers have easy access to an assortment of quality brands and a variety of shopping experiences for any fashion need,&#8221;
