Government would begin a final round of talks on the Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project on Tuesday, the presidency said.<\/p>\n
The first meeting would be held with the Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance (Outa<\/a>) at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, spokesman Thabo Masebe said.<\/p>\n “This is one of a series of meetings. There will be a comprehensive statement [made] at the end of the entire process.”<\/p>\n Government would also meet the SA Council of Churches and the Road Freight Association<\/a>.<\/p>\n “We should be finished [with the meetings] in the next week,” Masebe said.<\/p>\n On Thursday, the Constitutional Court ruled that an interim order granted by the High Court in Pretoria in April, which put the project on hold, be set aside.<\/p>\n It concluded that the High Court had not considered the separation of powers between it and the executive.<\/p>\n E-tolling an \u201cintegral part\u201d of financing: SARF<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n E-toll resistance to follow: Vavi<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\nRelated articles<\/h3>\n
