This is according to Raj Wanniappa, executive of carrier services at Internet Solutions.

Wanniappa said that Internet Solutions has the necessary building blocks in place for LTE deployment, and the only inhibitor is access to appropriate spectrum.

“All service providers would like to see ICASA implement a fair and effective spectrum allocation process quickly,” said Wanniappa.

One of the options for all operators is to partner with a company which has suitable LTE spectrum, which includes iBurst, Neotel, and Sentech, but IS is not keen on this option.

“At this stage Internet Solutions is not looking at partnering with other providers who have existing spectrum for LTE purposes.
