New Vodacom<\/a> CEO Shameel Joosub<\/a> said that there are no immediate plans to offer unlimited (uncapped) mobile data plans.<\/p>\n

Joosub said that unlimited data plans always attract abuse, which results in \u201c1 percent of customers generating 40% of data usage\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to Joosub, the high usage from some users on unlimited data plans means that it becomes impossible to guarantee high service levels for all users on the network.<\/p>\n

Joosub added that every mobile base station only has a limited capacity, which means that \u2018abusers\u2019 can negatively affect the other users on that base station.<\/p>\n

While Vodacom will not launch any uncapped data packages, the new Vodacom CEO said that Vodacom will launch new products and price plans to remain competitive in the market.<\/p>\n

Joosub added that network quality and a better customer experience are other key focus areas for the company.<\/p>\n
