The new line-up of iPods will be available in South Africa soon, Core Group<\/a>, the official Apple<\/a> distributor for SA announced on Wednesday (26 September 2012).<\/p>\n

When Apple unveiled the revamped range of players, it announced that the new iPod touch is the thinnest iPod touch ever, featuring a 4-inch Retina display; a 5 megapixel iSight camera with 1080p HD video recording; Apple\u2019s A5 chip; Siri; and iOS 6.<\/p>\n

The new iPod nano is the thinnest iPod ever, Apple said, featuring a 2.5-inch multi-touch display; navigation buttons; and built-in Bluetooth for wireless listening.<\/p>\n

Both the iPod touch and iPod nano come with Apple\u2019s new \u201cLightning\u201d connector that the company said is smaller, smarter and more durable than the previous connector.<\/p>\n

A Lightning-to\u201330-pin adapter is also available to connect iPod touch and iPod nano to legacy 30-pin accessories. Apple sells this adapter for $29, but no price has been announced for SA yet.<\/p>\n

The iPod touch and iPod nano will also come with the new Apple\u2019s new \u201cEarPods\u201d headphones that the company boasts has a more natural fit, increased durability and an acoustic quality typically reserved for higher-end earphones.<\/p>\n

Pricing & Availability<\/h3>\n

iPod touch and iPod nano will be available soon through Apple Premium Resellers (iStore and Digicape), Apple Authorised Resellers, and Apple Authorised Retailers, Core Group said.<\/p>\n

iPod touch will be available in black, blue, pink, white and yellow for the recommended retail price of R3,199 for the 32GB model and R4,299 for the 64GB model.<\/p>\n

iPod nano will be available in pink, yellow, blue, green, purple, silver and slate for the recommended retail price of R1,799 in a 16GB model.<\/p>\n

iPod shuffle will be available in pink, yellow, blue, green, purple, silver and slate for a recommended retail price of R599 in a 2GB model.<\/p>\n
