{"id":61128,"date":"2012-10-01T08:55:38","date_gmt":"2012-10-01T06:55:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=61128"},"modified":"2012-10-01T09:47:09","modified_gmt":"2012-10-01T07:47:09","slug":"telkom-may-have-broken-jse-rules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/technology\/61128-telkom-may-have-broken-jse-rules.html","title":{"rendered":"Telkom may have broken JSE rules"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/227037-Telkom\">Telkom<\/a> may have broken JSE listing rules when it did not notify its shareholders that two of its directors would retire from the board this month, according to Monday&#8217;s Business Report.<\/p>\n<p>The two, <a title=\"Jackie Huntley\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/287311-Reitumetse-Jackie-Huntley\">Jackie Huntley<\/a> and <a title=\"Julia Hope\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/287321-Julia-Ntombikayise-Hope\">Julia Hope<\/a>, would be retiring after Telkom&#8217;s annual general meeting (AGM) on October 24.<\/p>\n<p>Shareholders only became aware of this when they received their AGM notices last week, the newspaper reported. Analysts said the delay in notification did not meet Johannesburg Stock Exchange requirements.<\/p>\n<p>According to the AGM notices Huntley and Hope had not made themselves available for re-election.<\/p>\n<p>This meant that three of the five government-appointed directors on the Telkom board would be retiring in October.
