{"id":61208,"date":"2012-10-02T08:55:40","date_gmt":"2012-10-02T06:55:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=61208"},"modified":"2012-10-02T10:14:25","modified_gmt":"2012-10-02T08:14:25","slug":"e-toll-talks-almost-over","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/technology\/61208-e-toll-talks-almost-over.html","title":{"rendered":"E-toll talks almost over"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Consumers could go and buy their e-toll discs, as the transport department was busy concluding talks on the matter, Minister Ben Martins has said, Beeld reported on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the launch of National Transport Month in Soweto on Monday, Martins said more precise plans around the future of e-tolling would be made public at a media briefing on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>He declined to answer further questions on the issue, or be drawn on when the government planned to start with e-tolling.<\/p>\n<p>On September 20 the Constitutional Court set aside the interim interdict halting e-tolling of Gauteng&#8217;s major roads, giving the SA National Roads Agency Ltd the right to start the process.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/412554-OUTA-Opposition-to-Urban-Tolling-Alliance\">Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance<\/a> spokesman <a title=\"Wayne Duvenhage\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/413068-Wayne-Duvenage\">Wayne Duvenhage<\/a> said on Monday the review hearing of the e-tolling system would still take place in November.
