Internet Solutions<\/a> has upgraded its IP Connect (IPC) capacity in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, executive for connectivity at Internet Solutions, Sean Nourse<\/a>, recently told MyBroadband.<\/p>\n

This comes after Internet service providers (ISPs) that use IS as their wholesale provider notified customers last week (27 September 2012) of slow speeds and high latency on their network due to the IPC upgrades.<\/p>\n

IPC is the wholesale product from Telkom<\/a> which service providers must buy in order to offer their own ADSL services.<\/p>\n

At the time, Nourse explained that their IPC bandwidth is at capacity due to the massive growth in consumer DSL thanks to the success of their ISPs.<\/p>\n

Nourse said that the company has placed orders with Telkom to upgrade the IPC, and that it is working closely with Telkom\u2019s assistance to install the additional capacity as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

An Afrihost representative soon informed users on the MyBroadband forum that the upgrades to IS\u2019s Cape Town IPC had been completed,<\/a> with Johannesburg \u201cnot far behind\u201d.<\/p>\n

Nourse has now confirmed that their Johannesburg upgrade is also finished.<\/p>\n
