In an October 2025 interview, Mignot stated that Canal+’s library of European content was unrivalled and that DStv customers can expect a significant amount of new content to launch on the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the firm also creates 4,000 hours of African content in up to 15 languages each year. This content will be added to MultiChoice’s approximately 6,000 hours of annual locally produced content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Combined, we will provide roughly 10,000 hours per year in 20 to 35 languages,” said Mignot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“So, in a 10- to 15-year period, we are building up a catalogue of more than 100,000 to 150,000 hours, and then we will be able to make that content travel.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the final result will be an extensive catalogue that is available to a larger audience through dubbing and rescripting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While it hadn’t confirmed any new channels at the time, MultiChoice had already started introducing new content on existing channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
DStv now offers select French Ligue 1 football matches, broadcast live on SuperSport, through its partnership with Canal+.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ligue 1 is France’s top professional football league. It features 18 teams competing in 34 matches each over a 10-month period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Ligue 1 McDonald’s matches will now be available live on SuperSport to DStv, DStv Stream and GOtv subscribers across the continent,” said SuperSport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“SuperSport will broadcast up to three Ligue 1 McDonald’s matches per weekend, bringing iconic French players such as Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Demb\u00e9l\u00e9 and D\u00e9sir\u00e9 Dou\u00e9 to millions of African screens.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
