{"id":620778,"date":"2025-11-28T14:57:05","date_gmt":"2025-11-28T12:57:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=620778"},"modified":"2025-11-28T15:41:09","modified_gmt":"2025-11-28T13:41:09","slug":"fnb-under-fire-about-black-friday-problems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/banking\/620778-fnb-under-fire-about-black-friday-problems.html","title":{"rendered":"FNB under fire about Black Friday problems"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>First National Bank (FNB) has been experiencing problems for over five hours on Black Friday, 28 November 2025, with customers unable to log into their online banking or make payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several FNB Business Banking customers have also informed MyBroadband that they are unable to transact or access their financial information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They say that sometimes they can\u2019t log in at all. If they can log in, there is limited functionality. Neither payments nor transfers are working as they cannot be authorised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI have never been so inconvenienced in my life, im stuck with no way to process payments,\u201d one customer <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Inter_hunk\/status\/1994381139453280590\">said<\/a> on Twitter\/X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFNB, what\u2019s happening with you? I can\u2019t access my app nor use mobile banking and I need my money asap,\u201d another <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Mapiwan63229832\/status\/1994382153850011896\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFNB this is going on since 10am this morning. How am I supposed to run a business if I can&#8217;t pay anything? Seems like this happens every year when Black Friday hits,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/anon_a_mouse1\/status\/1994382998771540046\">said<\/a> another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One customer was blunt in <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Matthew71296508\/status\/1994387876193448066\">expressing<\/a> his frustration with the bank: \u201cFNB, you guys are downplaying your app and online failures! #fnbdown.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outage tracking service Downdetector shows that FNB customers began reporting issues from around 09:30 on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The problem initially appeared to be related to the FNB mobile app, which intermittently displays a server error message when customers attempt to sign in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRequest cannot be processed. We are unable to process your request at the moment. The cause is being investigated,\u201d the error message states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe apologise for the inconvenience caused.
