{"id":62246,"date":"2012-10-15T11:17:54","date_gmt":"2012-10-15T09:17:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=62246"},"modified":"2012-10-17T15:42:55","modified_gmt":"2012-10-17T13:42:55","slug":"apple-samsung-partnership-shaky","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/technology\/62246-apple-samsung-partnership-shaky.html","title":{"rendered":"Apple-Samsung partnership shaky"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Apple\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/342717-Apple-Inc\">Apple<\/a> is looking to distance itself from its chip-making partnership with <a title=\"Samsung\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/333656-Samsung\">Samsung<\/a>, according to analysts.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Apple-Samsung relationship has deteriorated to such a poor point that they&#8217;re just looking to fill contractual obligations, then make a change,&#8221; said an inside source in the chip industry.<\/p>\n<p>Gus Richard, a chip analyst at <a title=\"Piper Jaffray\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/473152-Piper-Jaffray\">Piper Jaffray<\/a>, also said that Apple is looking to move away from Samsung and partner-up with <a title=\"TSMC\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/428833-TSMC-Taiwan-Semiconductor-Manufacturing-Company\">TSMC<\/a> (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They&#8217;ll ramp down Samsung and ramp up TSMC.
