{"id":624288,"date":"2026-01-07T12:02:40","date_gmt":"2026-01-07T10:02:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=624288"},"modified":"2026-01-07T12:37:39","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T10:37:39","slug":"tech-price-increases-coming-samsung","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/gadgets\/624288-tech-price-increases-coming-samsung.html","title":{"rendered":"Tech price increases coming \u2014 Samsung"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Samsung Electronics expects memory chip supply shortages to raise prices across the electronics industry, including potentially among its own consumer products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The South Korean company is the world\u2019s largest memory maker, but even its portfolio is not immune to the surging cost of the component essential to everything from smartphones and laptops to connected home appliances and self-driving cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s going to be issues around semiconductor supplies, and it\u2019s going to affect everyone,\u201d Wonjin Lee, president and head of global marketing, said in an interview. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPrices are going up even as we speak.
