Samsung SA announced at an event in Cape Town today (18 October 2012) that an LTE<\/a> model of the Samsung<\/a> Galaxy Note 2 would be making its way to South Africa by the end of 2012.<\/p>\n

MTN<\/a> and Vodacom<\/a> both launched the 3G version of the device towards the start of the month on a variety of contracts.<\/p>\n

Vodacom also had the device available on pre-paid, and it is understood the device was available from Vodacom World at a cash price of R7,400.<\/p>\n

The current retail pricing, and recommended retail price from Samsung, is around R8,000, however.<\/p>\n

No recommended pricing for the LTE model was available at the time of writing.<\/p>\n

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 LTE for South Africa<\/p><\/div>\n

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 boasts a 5.5-inch 720p (720\u00d71280) display, 1.6GHz quad-core processor, and will run on the latest iteration of Google<\/a>\u2019s mobile operating system, Android<\/a> 4.1 \u201cJelly Bean\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to specifications provided by Samsung, the device is also to include a 3,100mAh battery, 2GB RAM, 16\/32\/64GB storage, and support for microSD up to 64GB.<\/p>\n

Its dimensions are 151.1mm x 80.5mm x 9.4mm, and the device weighs 182.5g.<\/p>\n
