Groupon<\/a> South Africa will continue to offer the full Windows<\/a> 8 Pro retail version for R599 until the end of October 2012.<\/p>\n

The daily deal website offered a pre-launch deal of Windows 8 Pro this morning (25 October 2012) at R599, claiming a 70% discount over the normal retail price of Microsoft<\/a>\u2019s latest operating system.<\/p>\n

However, this deal ran out of stock today, Groupon said, and they\u2019ve removed the deal and countdown clock from the site.<\/p>\n

The Windows 8 Pro deal for R599 will be available again from tomorrow until the end of the month, Groupon said, this time with unlimited stock.<\/p>\n

Groupon previously said that this was the full retail version of Windows 8 Pro that doesn\u2019t need users to have a Windows 7, Vista, or XP license.<\/p>\n

Upgrade editions of Windows 8 Pro that require users to have a previous version of Windows will be available from Incredible Connection<\/a> for R699.95.<\/p>\n

Microsoft said that they will also be offering download-only options of the upgrade for roughly half the price of the physical retail version with DVD ($39.99, or about R350).<\/p>\n

Those that have bought a new PC with Windows 7 between 2 June 2012 and 31 January 2013 can also register for Microsoft\u2019s special upgrade offer for $14.99.<\/p>\n
