So, 60GB over the year. The data will be allocated automatically,&#8221; it told MyBroadband.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Capitec is working to expand its mobile virtual network operator (MVNO). In October 2025, it started selling various Samsung Galaxy smartphones and Apple iPhones through the Capitec app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Our clients were already saving significantly with our Capitec Connect SIM and are now able to save more with our affordable smartphones that are available to buy directly on our app,&#8221; the bank said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Advances to purchase smartphones have also been launched.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Capitec also told MyBroadband that it would consider expanding the device offering to include models from other brands based on client demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To buy a device through the Capitec app, customers must first get a SIM card at their nearest branch before placing an order for their smartphone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Customers who order a device from Capitec will receive 30GB of free data, split into 5GB monthly data bundles for 6 months. Capitec promises delivery within three days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Capitec currently offers 17 devices for purchase through its app, including Samsung Galaxy smartphones suitable for a range of budgets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Devices range from budget to flagship, with the most expensive bundle being the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 with Galaxy Watch 8 for R42,999.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More affordable models include the A05 and A06, both with 64GB of storage, for R1,499 and R1,899, respectively. Capitec Connect runs on Cell C&#8217;s network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The operator has grown rapidly and proven popular among Capitec customers. It recorded 1.1 million active clients as of 31 August 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These clients consumed a combined 311 million minutes in the six months ended 31 August 2025, representing a 22% increase over the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the same period, Capitec Connect users consumed just under 15 petabytes of data, or 15 million gigabytes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A long-awaited development at Capitec Connect will be the introduction of eSIMs for the company&#8217;s clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In December 2024, Capitec Connect head Dr Dalene Steyn told MyBroadband that she had one of the MVNO&#8217;s eSIMs in her phone, and that it was something the company planned to roll out to clients in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;In my phone, I have a Capitec Connect eSIM, which I&#8217;ve been using for a number of months already.
