Telkom will increase prices across its mobile and fixed-line portfolios from 1 April 2026, with hikes ranging from 4.5% to 10% depending on the product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The operator said the adjustments are necessary to sustain investment in network infrastructure, service quality, and customer experience amid South Africa’s ongoing economic pressures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Post-paid mobile voice plans, including FlexOn and Infinite, along with LTE data plans, will rise by a blended average of 6.5%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selected LTE Wireless capped plans will see a moderate average increase of 4.5%, with individual adjustments ranging between 2.6% and 7.2%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uncapped LTE offerings and all Telkom 5G Internet plans will remain unchanged, as will device instalment fees and all value-added services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prepaid customers on Telkom More will pay R1.99 per minute for out-of-bundle voice calls, up from R1.91, while Telkom Thola More rates will increase from R0.80 to R0.89 per minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out-of-bundle data and SMS rates for prepaid users will not change, and business-specific tariffs are also excluded from the adjustment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MyBroadband reported all the details about Telkom’s mobile price increases<\/a> earlier in the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the fixed side, legacy voice products for both consumer and small to medium business (SMB) customers will increase by an average of 10%, while current voice products will rise by 6%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consumer and SMB DSL services will also see a 10% average increase, while fibre tariffs will go up by an average of 6%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MyBroadband reported details about Openserve’s imminent wholesale fibre price increases<\/a> in February. Openserve is Telkom’s wholesale and infrastructure division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Telkom’s Consumer and Small Business CEO, Lunga Siyo, said the company had worked to keep the increases measured while protecting key products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“These adjustments are necessary to ensure we continue providing reliable, high-quality services in an evolving economic landscape,” Siyo said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said Telkom had deliberately shielded device instalments, popular uncapped plans, and 5G services from the increases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Telkom said it remains one of the most competitively priced service providers in South Africa, particularly for data-led products and bundled solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Customers will be notified of changes to their plans via SMS, email, invoice inserts, and digital channels ahead of the 1 April implementation date. Details are also available on its website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
