Netflix increased the price of its standard streaming subscription with ads in the US by $1 to $8.99 (R153) per month, making good on its promise to increase revenue this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company\u2019s standard plan<\/a> without ads rose by $2 to $19.99 (R341) per month, while the premium plan, which supports up to four devices at once, climbed $2 to $26.99 (R460). <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe continue offering a range of prices and plans to meet a variety of needs,\u201d the company said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The last time Netflix raised prices in the US was in January 2025. The changes are effective immediately for new customers. Existing customers will be notified by email a month before their new pricing starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The company cited its continued investment in programming, including a new season of the anime-inspired hit One Piece<\/em> and the film drama Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Netflix has also been promoting more live events, including last week\u2019s BTS comeback concert.
