That is how the prepaid voucher system operates today.”

The company currently has a Blu Voucher for online purchases, a Ringas voucher for telecommunications products, and a UniPIN for electricity.

Within the next 12 to 18 months, Blu Label Unlimited will completely overhaul the system. “We have already started it, and it is working well,” he said.

“We will only sell generic vouchers. You will only buy rand values from Blu Label Unlimited,” Levy explained.

He said that their new ‘One Voucher’ will launch very soon. It will allow users to buy a voucher of any rand value, and use it across services.

“You can buy a voucher of R100, and use R30 for airtime, R20 for a bus ticket, and R50 for prepaid electricity,” he said.

Apart from the convenience for customers and vendors, these vouchers will also offer additional benefits.

“When you buy a voucher, you will get something for it, like a free bus ticket or 400 MB of additional data,” Levy explained.

Custom vouchers for specific retailers

Brett Levy, Blu Label Unlimited co-CEO

Levy said that the One Voucher, which will launch soon, will build on the success of their other vouchers.

“Our Blu Voucher generates R1.5 billion to R2.0 billion per month, and our Ringas and UniPIN vouchers do between R200 million and R300 million per month,” he said.

The success of these vouchers shows that customers like them and that they will not need to change the way they buy vouchers to adopt the new One Voucher.

Blu Label Unlimited is now repositioning its future vouchering, which underpins its voucher business.

One of the biggest benefits is customised vouchers for specific individuals and retailers to add value to them.

“We know where someone shops, what they spend their money on, and which bank they use,” Levy explained.

Blu Label Unlimited will enable Capitec, Shoprite, and FNB to offer customised vouchers to their clients.

“We can offer a Shoprite One Voucher. They will only buy the Shoprite One Voucher.

“This is very exciting for us.
