{"id":644000,"date":"2026-04-28T16:27:18","date_gmt":"2026-04-28T14:27:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=644000"},"modified":"2026-04-29T07:43:39","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T05:43:39","slug":"r3-petrol-price-cut-extended-in-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/motoring\/644000-r3-petrol-price-cut-extended-in-south-africa.html","title":{"rendered":"R3 petrol price cut extended in South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>South Africa extended cuts to fuel taxes amid the prolonged conflict in the Middle East, which threatens to raise domestic petrol and diesel prices further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The R3.00-per-litre reduction in fuel levies announced at the end of last month will continue until 2 June, the National Treasury said in a statement on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, temporary relief for diesel will be increased by 93 cents to R3.93 per litre over that period, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;For the month of June 2026, the minister of finance proposes that the level of relief is halved to phase out the relief before July,&#8221;
