<\/em><\/strong>British manufacturing and marketing company, Datawind has announced the Aakash 2 – and it could be the world\u2019s cheapest tablet on offer.<\/p>\n

The Aakash 2 is launching as part of India\u2019s National Education Day, and will be available to Indian students for Rs 1,130 (around R180).<\/p>\n

The barebones tablet features a 7-inch touch panel; 1GHz Cortex-A8 processor; 512MB of RAM; 4GB of Flash storage; Android 4.0.3; built-in WiFi; and a front-facing VGA camera.<\/p>\n

The distribution of the tablets is said to allow for greater educational applications.<\/p>\n

The Indian Government has chosen 244 engineering colleges in the country that will work as remote centres for \u201cAakash in Education\u201d programme<\/p>\n
