news for DStv subscribers who use Discovery Bank

DStv and Discovery Bank have announced that customers will receive double their Ðiscovery Miles rewards until the end of June.

Discovery announced on Thursday that, for the seven weeks between 11 May and 30 June 2026, customers will receive up to 50% back on their DStv subscriptions as a special offer.

Discovery Bank announced DStv as a rewards partner in November 2025, offering clients up to 25% back in Ðiscovery Miles on their DStv packages.

Initially, the company announced that customers would earn miles when they pay their DStv debit orders from a Discovery Bank account from December 2025 to March 2026.

Discovery said at the time that, starting in the second quarter of 2026, DStv decoder customers paying by card would also receive 25% back in Ðiscovery Miles.

Only those who subscribe to DStv Stream services would have received the 50% Ðiscovery Miles rewards.

However, this has since been amended, with DStv Stream and decoder customers now qualifying for the 50% reward, whether they pay by debit order or card.

At current prices, a DStv Stream Premium customer who pays R799 per month will receive R399.50 back in Discovery Miles.

“Partnering with Discovery to give our customers such great value is an obvious choice,” said Willington Ngwepe, CEO of the MultiChoice LicenceCo in South Africa.

Although MultiChoice Group is wholly-owned by French media conglomerate Groupe Canal+, to comply with regulations, a South African entity had to be spun out to hold the local broadcasting services licence.

Through MultiChoice Group, Canal+’s shareholding in LicenceCo gives it a 49% economic interest, while restricting its voting rights to 20%.

“DStv customers who bank with Discovery will now earn up to 50% of the cost of their subscription back in Discovery Miles to spend on whatever they want while they tune in for FIFA World Cup 2026,” said Ngwepe.

“DStv is really making this the most
