The second Global Day of Coderetreat<\/a> will take place on 8 December 2012, and South Africa will join the initiative with events in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.<\/p>\n

The latest Coderetreat initiative is expected to attract over 3,000 software developers in 200 cities across 14 time zones, creating a worldwide network of people focussed on programming excellence.<\/p>\n

According to Wallis Buchan<\/a> of Dev2<\/a>, Coderetreat is an intensive practice workshop that provides a great skills development platform.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hosted Durban\u2019s first Coderetreat in July this year and it proved to be a great success. So when the Global Day of Coderetreat was announced online, we jumped at the opportunity and signed up as a host company to ensure that Durban developers would be able to participate in this worldwide initiative,\u201d said Buchan.<\/p>\n

\u201cCoderetreat appeals across the board to a wide audience from beginners to experts. An ideal networking opportunity, there will be a strong focus on stretching participants\u2019 abilities and to encourage dynamic and unusual solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Durban Coderetreat will take place at Dev2 at the Bellevue Campus in Kloof and will run from 08h30 to 17h00.<\/p>\n
