others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the South African National Blood Service (SANBS), we see it in action every day through young blood donors who choose to turn solidarity into lifesaving impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notably, 43.27% of our donor panel is made up of donors between the ages of 16 and 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a powerful reflection that today\u2019s youth are not waiting for change \u2014 they are actively sustaining life and strengthening the health system through blood donation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At SANBS, we believe that one of the greatest acts of leadership is choosing to save a life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each blood donation carries a powerful impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It helps save lives, restore families, and create futures by providing critical support to patients when they need it most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the youth of 1976 fought for dignity and possibility, today\u2019s youth carry a different but equally important responsibility: to protect and preserve life itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In every donation, they extend that legacy of courage into hospitals, emergency rooms, and operating theatres across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This Youth Day, we encourage more young South Africans to follow in their footsteps \u2014 not only by remembering history, but by actively shaping the future through lifesaving action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your blood donation is a quiet act of courage that echoes far beyond the donor chair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It tells a stranger, \u201cYour life matters.\u201d It gives families more birthdays to celebrate, more graduations to
