Below, I unpack my experience using one of the most interesting and ambitious gaming laptops I\u2019ve seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The ROG Zephyrus Duo is the world\u2019s first gaming laptop with dual 16-inch displays, offering an exceptional gaming experience \u2013 especially since most gamers already use two monitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I could run a game on the top panel and almost anything else on the second display \u2013 goodbye ALT-TAB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sometimes it was Discord, other times it was Spotify, game walkthroughs, performance monitoring tools, or YouTube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But what takes this experience to the next level is the quality of the displays. The ROG Zephyrus Duo features two 3K OLED panels that are incredibly vibrant and responsive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They are touchscreen, and offer a 120Hz refresh rate, 0.2ms response time, full DCI-P3 colour coverage, and HDR support with peak brightness reaching up to 1,100 nits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In short, these displays look incredible. Games pop with rich colours and deep blacks, HDR content looks fantastic, and colour-grading video content is a breeze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And because both displays are identical, dragging windows between them is seamless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The displays may be the first thing you notice about the ROG Zephyrus Duo, but the hardware underneath is where the laptop lives up to its Republic Of Gamers (ROG) brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n My review unit came equipped with the Intel Core Ultra 9 386H, which has 16 cores, 16 threads, and boosts up to 4.9GHz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While the star of the show is the GPU, the CPU is vital, as many games have become far more processor-intensive these days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Having this powerful processor meant there was no bottleneck in performance, and multitasking was a breeze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This was coupled with 64GB of LPDDR5X 8,533MHz RAM, which was also great for multitasking \u2013 as well as video editing and playing any game at max settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I no longer needed to constantly optimise which apps were running in the background – whether it was my countless Google Chrome tabs or a bunch of creative apps while I was in the middle of a project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The fast 2TB PCIe 5.0 SSD contributed to this experience at every level, making every click immediately responsive. Projects opened quickly, and I could easily transfer files in seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Then there is the GPU. The RTX 5090 Laptop GPU with 24GB VRAM sounds excessive until you actually start using it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It easily handled modern games with ray tracing and tore through intensive creative workloads, from large assets and high-resolution textures to rendering jobs and AI tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It all felt effortless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What surprised me most was how little compromise there seemed to be despite running two displays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I intentionally pushed the system hard by gaming on the top display while streaming video below and leaving a bunch of background apps running.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The ROG Zephyrus Duo did not flinch \u2013 it just powered through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Even before running a few games, the best way to see what any computer is made of is by benchmarking it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I put it through the wringer with several of the top benchmarking tools, including Passmark, Unigine, 3Dmark, and CrystalDiskMark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The easiest of these to interpret is Passmark. With a Passmark score of 15,587.2, the ROG Zephyrus Duo ranked in the 98th percentile worldwide, averaging across all components.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Here is the breakdown:<\/p>\n\n\n\n We tested a bunch of games on the ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo. Naturally, the first game to test was the king of hardware-maxing – Cyberpunk 2077.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It remains one of the best games to make hardware sweat, with settings that go beyond the usual \u201cUltra\u201d to the extreme \u201cPsycho\u201d mode \u2013 which is meant to be more of a technical demonstration than actually playable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Yet, with every setting maxed out, Cyberpunk 2077 still ran surprisingly well, with frame rates around 40 FPS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The RTX 5090 meant I could push settings aggressively while still enjoying smooth gameplay, and the OLED panel made everything look great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I also ran ARK: Survival Ascended, Battlefield 2042, Battlefield 6, Borderlands 4, Ready or Not, and Where Winds Meet \u2013 and the ROG Zephyrus Duo didn\u2019t break a sweat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With every setting maxed out and the resolution at 4K, every game ran incredibly smoothly \u2013 and the 120Hz refresh rates of the displays ensured everything stayed clean, sharp, and responsive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The ROG Zephyrus Duo is one of those devices that feels slightly unreal until you use it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It combines desktop-class power with an RTX 5090, pairs it with two gorgeous 3K OLED displays, and somehow packages everything into a machine you can still carry around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The performance is outrageous. The displays are spectacular.
