The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has published a notice about the converted Broadcasting Services, Electronic Communications Services, Electronic Communications Network Services in terms of section 93 of the Electronic Communications Act.<\/p>\n
As spectrum licences are renewable on an annual basis, the Authority has resolved not to include those in this process as they have already been aligned with the Act.<\/p>\n
However, the regulator said that it will include those spectrum licences which are affected by the re-positioning of obligations in this process.<\/p>\n
The licensees were notified by ICASA to collect their licences from ICASA Head Office or Regional Offices from 16 January 2009. <\/p>\n
According to ICASA no converted licence will be e-mailed to licensees. <\/p>\n
A complete list of all converted licences will also be available on the ICASA website and from the ICASA library.<\/p>\n
