Mary Meeker<\/a>, a partner at Kleiner Perkins Caulfield and Byers<\/a>, recently unveiled her latest report on 2012\u2019s Internet Trends report, showing that Android<\/a> shipments have raced ahead of iPhone<\/a> shipments.<\/p>\n

This latest report is an update on Meeker\u2019s 2012 Internet Trends research released in March 2012, which focused on global Internet stats, business models associated with mobile and social online environments and economic trends related to the Internet.<\/p>\n

Meeker\u2019s Internet Trends report shows that Android smartphone adoption is increasing rapidly, and is now nearly six times higher than iPhone adoption.<\/p>\n

The fast growth of Android is partly fuelled by low cost smartphones running Google<\/a>\u2019s Android mobile operating system in emerging markets, including India and China.<\/p>\n

The following graph shows the number of iPhone and Android devices which were shipped over the last few years.<\/p>\n
