{"id":66438,"date":"2012-12-07T15:26:54","date_gmt":"2012-12-07T13:26:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=66438"},"modified":"2012-12-07T15:27:57","modified_gmt":"2012-12-07T13:27:57","slug":"mweb-targeted-in-phishing-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/security\/66438-mweb-targeted-in-phishing-attack.html","title":{"rendered":"MWEB targeted in phishing attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cyber criminals are targeting Internet Service Provider MWEB in a phishing attack which uses a \u201cmailbox quota allowance\u201d warning to try to unlawfully get usernames and passwords.<\/p>\n<p>The message reads \u201cThis message was sent by System security server concerning your mailbox quota allowance on your Webmail account. This recent alert has placed a lock status on your account and needs to be updated by you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Users are encouraged to click on a link named \u201cwww.mweb.co.za\/quota\u201d to \u201cupdate their account quota\u201d.
