{"id":66926,"date":"2013-01-14T17:03:31","date_gmt":"2013-01-14T15:03:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=66926"},"modified":"2013-01-14T17:04:54","modified_gmt":"2013-01-14T15:04:54","slug":"top-malware-countries-revealed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/security\/66926-top-malware-countries-revealed.html","title":{"rendered":"Top malware countries revealed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Kaspersky Lab\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/333634-Kaspersky-Lab\">Kaspersky Lab<\/a> released its annual Kaspersky Security Bulletin recently, revealing that the United States was the top malware hosting country in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Kaspersky Lab report, servers located in the United States were the most frequently used to host and deliver malicious objects (25.5% of all incidents). Russia occupies the second place with 19.6% followed by the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a significant change compared to years past: in 2010 the majority of malware was hosted in China,\u201d said Kaspersky Lab.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChanges in domain registration policies and other regulations taken by Chinese authorities resulted in the rapid decline of malicious hosts originating from the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Russia and former USSR republics occupy the top places in the web attacks chart, but 31 countries (including UK, Australia and Canada) in total have also joined them in the \u201chigh risk\u201d group.
