Mxit<\/a> is set to release version 6.4 of its Android<\/a> App next week, which will offer numerous visual enhancements, improved performance and improved profile photos.<\/p>\n

New Mxit Chief Marketing Officer Vincent Maher<\/a> explained that these significant enhancements may be unusual for a point release, but there is a reason behind this decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reasoning is that Android is our flagship smartphone platform and we use it to gauge user opinion about new features and functionality before we roll it out to our larger base of feature phone users,\u201d said Maher.<\/p>\n

The new Mxit Android app will be more data efficient, support larger profile pictures and have better memory handling.<\/p>\n

It further supports Mxit\u2019s speed dial, and users will be able to cut and paste in-message.<\/p>\n
