iBurst has announced significant tariff reductions on its WiMAX product offerings effective from February 2009. All existing and prospective iBurst subscribers will benefit from the reduced pricing.<\/p>\n
iBurst WiMAX is a wireless alternative to Leased Line and ADSL services and offers connectivity to small, medium and large businesses. According to iBurst the initiative will have multiple benefits for businesses including lower broadband costs, free installation and an improved quality of service.<\/p>\n
“iBurst has witnessed a marked uptake of broadband services by SMMEs (small, medium and micro enterprises). The growth of our country is largely dependent on the growth of the SMME sector and from a telecommunications perspective, we will do everything we can to support that,” said Steve Briggs, Executive Head: Commercial.<\/p>\n
“As a network agnostic provider, iBurst is able to recommend and sell products tailored to the unique needs of any organisation,” added Mr Briggs.<\/p>\n
iBurst WiMAX is available on a month-to-month or 24 month contract with the hardware charges included in all 24 month contracts. As part of the special offer from iBurst, subscribers signing up for any new 24 month iBurst WiMAX package between February and April will not have to pay for installation fees.<\/p>\n
Pricing<\/strong><\/p>\n The price for a 512 Kbps WiMax service with 5 GB shaped bandwidth is now R 690 per month, down from the previous R 855 per month. For the same service with 10 GB shaped bandwidth it is R 970, down from R 1199 per month.<\/p>\n The price of a 1 Mbps WiMax service with 5 GB of bandwidth is reduced from R 995 to R 760 per month while the 10 GB option will now cost R 1040 instead of R 1335.<\/p>\n Similar price cuts were made for iBurst’s WiMax Broadband service with unshaped bandwidth and iBurst WiMax Assured service offerings.<\/p>\n
