Web Africa<\/a> has announced that it will route its ADSL traffic via Internet Solutions<\/a>‘ backbone, starting the process from next week.<\/p>\n

This decision arrives three years after Web Africa opted to manage its own proprietary IPC network from Cape Town, where its head office is based.<\/p>\n

Web Africa CEO Tim Wyatt\u2013Gunning<\/a> explained that the choice to partner with IS was an easy one.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith their rock-solid infrastructure and excellent technical expertise behind us, it frees up our resources considerably, allowing us to focus completely on delivering our world-class service to customers and businesses,\u201d said Wyatt\u2013Gunning.<\/p>\n

\u201cWeb Africa will now have multiple network access points across the country, which will reduce the risk of any downtime and provide better latency.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whilst IS will provide its ADSL backbone network, Web Africa will still manage its ADSL product groupings, with full control over their unique product offerings.<\/p>\n

Saki Missaikos<\/a>, managing director of Internet Solutions, said that the partnership with Web Africa is a natural fit.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the quality and scope of IS\u2019 extensive broadband infrastructure continues to grow, we have been seeking partnerships that offer longevity and mutual benefit,\u201d said Missaikos.<\/p>\n

\u201cWeb Africa\u2019s line of business will assist us in achieving our goals in further development and expansion of the IS business.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wyatt\u2013Gunning highlighted that Web Africa\u2019s partnership with Internet Solutions will encourage the emergence of a more diversified product range.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn time, we plan to bundle roaming access to WiFi into our ADSL offering in a bid to meet the shifting demands of an ever more mobile consumer base,\u201d said Wyatt\u2013Gunning.<\/p>\n
