22seven<\/a>, a personal financial management service that was recently acquired by Old Mutual<\/a>, will soon have an iOS<\/a> app according to Christo Davel<\/a>, CEO of 22seven.<\/p>\n

The company promised mobile apps in May 2012 when 22seven exited beta, and since then have only launched an application for Windows 8.<\/p>\n

Davel explained that their first mobile application has taken so long to develop because designing it was time-consuming.<\/p>\n

Now that they have the design in the bag however, apps for other platforms won\u2019t take as long, he said.<\/p>\n

Asked why they chose iOS for their first mobile application when BlackBerry<\/a> is the most popular smartphone brand in South Africa, Davel said that they had to support the platform where their customers are.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlmost 70% of our customers use iOS devices,\u201d Davel said.<\/p>\n

Davel didn\u2019t want to say which platform they\u2019d be targeting after iOS, but did indicate that they won\u2019t stop at iDevice support.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf our customers use a specific platform we\u2019ll be stupid not be there,\u201d Davel said.<\/p>\n
