offering confusion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201c<a title=\"MTN\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/226943-MTN\">MTN<\/a> wishes to clear the confusion and put its customers at ease by assuring them that the Blackberry <a title=\"BIS\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/429993-BIS-BlackBerry-Internet-Service\">BIS<\/a> service will not be discontinued,\u201d the operator said in a statement issued today (20 February 2013).<\/p>\n<p>According to MTN there has been speculation in the public domain that MTN will be ending its BIS offering.<\/p>\n<p>While the operator may not be ending its BIS offering, an official document revealed earlier this month that MTN was planning on renaming its existing BIS package to \u201cBlackBerry Absolute\u201d and will introduce a 200MB cap.<\/p>\n<p>MTN did not address this, instead clarifying the semantics of BIS:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>MTN would like to further clarify that BIS stands for Blackberry Internet Services, this includes services such as BlackBerry Messenger (<a title=\"BBM\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/378544-BBM-Blackberry-messenger\">BBM<\/a>), BlackBerry Email, Instant Messaging, Browser and BlackBerry App World.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div declined to comment:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMTN will make the necessary announcements to the public should there be any changes to its Blackberry BIS services, but we do not intend to discontinue the
