Vodacom<\/a> has started to offer a new set of smartphone contracts to subscribers taking up the BlackBerry Z10<\/a>, and details on when they plan to make the deals more widely available emerged at their launch for the new BlackBerry<\/a> device.<\/p>\n

According to the deal sheets used by consultants to educate customers about the new data plans for the BlackBerry Z10, Vodacom will launch 7 new Smart plans in February 2013.<\/p>\n

Its existing Smart plans (Smart Standard, Smart Advanced, etc.) will \u201cno longer be communicated\u201d, according to the document.<\/p>\n

As with Vodacom\u2019s previous contract plans for smartphones, the new Smart plans will also include an allocation of voice minutes, data, and SMSes.<\/p>\n

While there is some conflicting information between the deal sheets and information MyBroadband received early last week, most of the details are corroborated:<\/p>\n

Earlier information suggested that the upper tier of packages that include unlimited SMSes would be named \u201cRed Advantage\u201d, \u201cRed Premium\u201d, \u201cRed VIP\u201d. It also indicated that the VIP package would include unlimited voice.<\/p>\n

Outside of these differences, the prices and package details from the two sources match up.<\/p>\n

Asked whether the deal sheets from the BlackBerry Z10 launch are the final form Vodacom\u2019s new Smart packages will take, and when they will become generally available, the network declined to answer:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are working on a proposition that includes a range of exciting products and services. We believe these will provide great benefits to our contract customers. These propositions will be announced shortly,\u201d said Enzo Scarcella<\/a>, managing executive \u2013 postpay at Vodacom.<\/p>\n
