MTN<\/a> will be launching more devices able to connect subscribers to its Long Term Evolution (LTE<\/a>) network in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

Subscribers that want to use MTN\u2019s LTE network will need to get a new SIM card and pay an LTE \u201cValue Added Service\u201d subscription fee in addition to the data package they\u2019ll need to buy.<\/p>\n

This is according to general manager for product, innovation, and development at MTN SA, Mike Fairon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was recently reported that LTE support for the iPhone 5<\/a> became available on MTN, and the network said it also plans to soon bring to market other phones, an LTE dongle (USB modem), and routers.<\/p>\n

Asked whether they will also be offering the LTE model of the BlackBerry Z10<\/a>, Fairon said that they are in discussions with BlackBerry on the Z10 and that MTN will receive devices for testing.<\/p>\n

He explained that the LTE BlackBerry Z10 is certainly something they are looking at and want to range, but that it just has to go through their approval process.<\/p>\n

MTN will also be launching more LTE-capable tablets to join the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9<\/a> LTE it already has on offer, Fairon said.<\/p>\n

The expansion of its LTE services will include the launch of new packages too, MTN said, though it will only reveal details closer to the time.<\/p>\n
