But did this happen?<\/p>\n<p>In 2012 Cell C\u2019s advertisements asked consumers \u201cIs your cellphone network a highly advanced network?\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The advertisement went on to say that \u201c\u2026we\u2019ve built a highly advanced 2G, 3G, HSPA+, LTE ready IP network which will cover 98% of South Africa by the end of the year [31 December 2012]\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In November 2012 Cell C said that its 2G and 3G network covered approximately 94% of the SA population. Cell C added that its 3G network covers 72% of the South African population.<\/p>\n<p>Fast forward five months and Cell C is mum on whether it reached its target of covering 98% of South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about their network coverage and whether the operator met its target, Cell C did not answer this question.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_72934\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cell C website footer<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Cell C website currently (12 March 2013) states that \u201cCell C&#8217;s market-leading products and services are supported by its highly advanced 2G, 3G, HSPA+ LTE-ready IP network that will cover 98% of South Africa by the end of the year [hence the end of 2013]\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In an advertisement on the Cell C network about
