WirelessG<\/a> has entered into negotiations with MTN<\/a> to offload mobile traffic onto WiFi, court documents have revealed.<\/p>\n

In WirelessG\u2019s court submission in its ongoing legal battle with Vodacom<\/a>, the company said that it \u201chas entered into negotiations with MTN to offload mobile traffic onto Wi-Fi, and an agreement of intent has been signed\u201d.<\/p>\n

The details about the agreement and MTN\u2019s plans regarding mobile traffic offloading onto WiFi remain sketchy.<\/p>\n

WirelessG CEO Carel van der Merwe<\/a> said that they were absolute transparent about their relationship with MTN.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, details on the WirelessG relationship with MTN is still subject to confidentiality,\u201d said van der Merwe.<\/p>\n

Fusi Mokoena<\/a>, the general manager for commercial legal at MTN SA, said that the business relationship between MTN and WirelessG is subject to confidentiality.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn this basis, MTN is not at liberty to discuss this relationship,\u201d Mokoena said.<\/p>\n

Mokoena added that the WirelessG-Vodacom legal matter is before court, and as a result it is sub judice. \u201cAccordingly, this also prevents us from commenting on same,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
