{"id":73912,"date":"2013-03-27T12:02:01","date_gmt":"2013-03-27T10:02:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=73912"},"modified":"2013-03-27T12:44:56","modified_gmt":"2013-03-27T10:44:56","slug":"bad-online-passwords-are-you-guilty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/security\/73912-bad-online-passwords-are-you-guilty.html","title":{"rendered":"Bad online passwords: are you guilty?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New information released by <a title=\"Kaspersky Lab\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/333634-Kaspersky-Lab\">Kaspersky Lab<\/a> shows that many Internet users make themselves vulnerable to attacks through weak passwords and poor password management.<\/p>\n<p>Online life is increasing, and services such as social networks, e-mail and online banking require a username and password.<\/p>\n<p>Using easy-to-remember passwords, which include regularly used passwords (like 123456 or password) and easily guessed passwords (like your middle name or pet\u2019s name), create significant security weaknesses.<\/p>\n<p>However, to memorize strong multiple alphanumeric combinations is challenging, which means that many people use the same password for different services.
