href="http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/213919-Cell-C">Cell C in relation to bulk SMS provisioning.

At the recent WASPA AGM the majority of the body’s members voted in favour of lodging a complaint against Cell C for giving preferential treatment to Blue Label Telecoms owned <a title="Cellfind" this morning (3 April 2013) that it has been “engaging Cell C on this matter and is pleased to report that Cell C has now committed to providing a level playing field to all its WASPs in regard to pricing and facilities”.

“As a result of this development, the WASPA Mancom believes that there is now no need to pursue lodging a Competition Commission complaint against Cell C in relation to bulk SMS provisioning,” WASPA said in the letter.

Some WASPA members feel that a Competition Commission complaint was necessary to send a message to all mobile operators that they should not play favourites when it comes to WASP rates and treatment.

MyBroadband previously contacted WASPA chairperson Leon Perlman to gain clarity on the issue, but he did not respond to questions.

Cell C also did not provide feedback on whether it will continue to provide Blue Label Telecoms owned Cellfind with preferential rates or services.

More WASPA and Cell C articles

<a
