This upgrade included an increase in capacity (from 8Gbps to 13Gbps) and IPCs in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith our move onto the <a title=\"MTN\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/226943-MTN\">MTN<\/a> network late last year, their network capacity had expanded to 8Gbps, a 30% increase from their previous capacity of approximately 6Gbps on the <a title=\"IS\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/226430-Internet-Solutions\">IS<\/a> network,\u201d Afrihost said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor us to continue to deliver the best ADSL experience for our clients, we expanded our network by an additional 60% &#8211; from 8Gbps to 13Gbps.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As of February and March 2013, Cape Town and Durban\u2019s respective dedicated IPCs went live.<\/p>\n<p>As of March 2013, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban respectively enjoy 8Gbps, 3Gbps and 2Gbps dedicated IPCs with the new network upgrades. class=\"wp-caption-text\">Afrihost ADSL network plans<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Afrihost has also upgraded their city to city links between Cape Town-Johannesburg and Johannesburg-Durban, with the Cape Town-Port Elizabeth link due to be completed soon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis will improve our local network and ensure the best connectivity between cities, resulting in more efficient routing of traffic, which is now within the MTN core network as opposed to Telkom\u2019s national network,\u201d said Afrihost.<\/p>\n<p>Afrihost added that they contracted multi-Gbps connectivity on <a title=\"EASSy\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/216377-EASSy\">EASSy<\/a> and <a title=\"WACS\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/355686-WACS-(West-Africa-Cable-System)\">WACS<\/a>. \u201cOur new network also boasts multiple international redundancies with capacity on
