{"id":78753,"date":"2013-05-27T16:07:35","date_gmt":"2013-05-27T14:07:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=78753"},"modified":"2013-05-28T09:22:01","modified_gmt":"2013-05-28T07:22:01","slug":"saps-website-still-vulnerable-hacker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/security\/78753-saps-website-still-vulnerable-hacker.html","title":{"rendered":"SAPS website still vulnerable: hacker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The hacker that recently leaked information obtained with a simple SQL injection attack from the website of the South African Police Service (<a title=\"SAPS\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/485318-South-African-Police-Service-SAPS\">SAPS<\/a>) said that the website is still vulnerable to hackers through different means.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUp until yesterday (26 May 2013) I was still able to access the server, I haven\u2019t tried today,\u201d the hacker going by the moniker \u201cDomainer\u201d told MyBroadband.<\/p>\n<p>This follows a recent tweet by Domainer suggesting that SAPS statements that the website had been secured are false.<\/p>\n<p>Domainer took responsibility for a hack on the SAPS website and the leak of almost 15,800 comments obtained from the site\u2019s database, which included the ID numbers and other sensitive information of many commenters.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_78755\" style=\"width: 544px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-78755\" class=\"size-full wp-image-78755\" alt=\"SAPS website still vulnerable tweet from Domainer\" src=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/SAPS-website-still-vulnerable-tweet-from-Domainer.jpg\" width=\"534\" height=\"317\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-78755\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">SAPS website still vulnerable tweet from Domainer<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Asked if the website was still vulnerable to the same attack used to obtain the comments they had leaked onto the web, Domainer said that they\u2019ve progressed past the stage of an SQL attack.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir server has been back-doored and it will take them some figuring out,\u201d Domainer said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI must say I did laugh when I read that SAPS had hired crack hackers to keep me out,\u201d the hacker added. \u201cWell I guess I can take comfort in knowing that I have created job opportunities in South Africa!\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"related\">More on information security in South Africa and the SAPS website hack<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/78368-slow-adsl-it-could-be-a-cyber-attack.html\"><strong>Slow ADSL?
