{"id":80071,"date":"2013-06-12T10:46:07","date_gmt":"2013-06-12T08:46:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=80071"},"modified":"2013-06-12T11:19:27","modified_gmt":"2013-06-12T09:19:27","slug":"icasa-2013-call-termination-questionnaire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/telecoms\/80071-icasa-2013-call-termination-questionnaire.html","title":{"rendered":"ICASA 2013 call termination questionnaire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a title=\"Independent Communications Authority of South Africa\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/226385-ICASA\">Independent Communications Authority of South Africa<\/a> has released its 2013 call termination questionnaire, which forms part of its review of existing call termination regulations.<\/p>\n<p>ICASA explained that the questionnaire is designed to enable it to gather and update market information to assist it in assessing the level of competitiveness in the relevant market, and determining the effect of the Call Termination Regulations.<\/p>\n<p>The 2013 call termination questionnaire is aimed at Electronic Communications Network Services and Electronic Communications Services licensees.<\/p>\n<p>The questionnaire consists of 6 sections, with the last section (section F) being the most relevant on getting feedback on call termination rates.<\/p>\n<p>All relevant licensees are required to submit their responses to the questionnaires by 26 July 2013.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>SECTION F<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1a &#8211; In your view, what has been the effect of call termination regulation policy on competition in the market for mobile and\/or fixed voice communication?<br \/>\n1b &#8211; Provide reasons for your answer in 1a<br \/>\n1c &#8211; What has been the effect of the reduction in call termination rates (Glide Path) on your business?<br \/>\n1d &#8211; If the Authority were to recommend a new Glide Path, what would be your suggested rates?<br \/>\n1e &#8211; Provide reasons\/evidence to support your suggestion in 1d<\/p>\n<p>2 &#8211; If your company could unilaterally raise termination charges by 10% from the current level, what would the impact be on:<\/p>\n<p>Please provide an estimate of the impact, in percentage terms, on the following:<\/p>\n<p>2a &#8211; mobile call prices (both mobile to mobile and mobile to fixed)<br \/>\n2b &#8211; subscription prices<br \/>\n2c &#8211; handset prices<br \/>\n2d &#8211; marketing costs<br \/>\n2e &#8211; total revenues<br \/>\n2f &#8211;
