{"id":80585,"date":"2013-06-23T14:10:00","date_gmt":"2013-06-23T12:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=80585"},"modified":"2013-06-23T14:11:28","modified_gmt":"2013-06-23T12:11:28","slug":"highest-tech-ceo-salaries-in-sa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/technology\/80585-highest-tech-ceo-salaries-in-sa.html","title":{"rendered":"Highest tech CEO salaries in SA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following the release of <a title=\"Vodacom\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/227063-Vodacom\">Vodacom<\/a>&#8216;s annual report this week, BusinessTech takes a look at what the tech industries top executives have been paid for their work in the last financial year.<\/p>\n<p>Once again topping the list as the highest paid CEO in telecoms and tech, <a title=\"MTN\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/226943-MTN\">MTN<\/a>&#8216;s <a title=\"Sifiso Dabengwa\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/288039-Sifiso-Dabengwa\">Sifiso Dabengwa<\/a> ended the 2012\/2013 financial year R23.5 million rand richer. This includes a base salary of R8.4 million, benefits of R1.678 million and a bonus of R13.45 million.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Altech\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/238471-Altech-UEC\">Altech<\/a> head, <a title=\"Craig Venter\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/314465-Craig-Venter\">Craig Venter<\/a>, after a poor financial performance, decided to forego his bonus and walked away with R7.73 million in remuneration for the year, down from the R9.42 million earned the previous year.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Altron\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/308077-Altron\">Altron<\/a> CEO <a title=\"Robbie Venter\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/370138-Robert-Venter\">Robbie Venter<\/a> earned R11.164 million in remuneration for the year.<\/p>\n<p>Vodacom Group&#8217;s CEO, <a title=\"Shameel Joosub\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/210076-Shameel-Joosub\">Shameel Joosub<\/a> took home R6.7 million in the last financial year &#8211; the lowest amount across the big tech companies in SA.
