SmartWatch 2 announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After much teasing that it would be introducing a new \u201csmartwatch\u201d ahead of Mobile Asia Expo today (25 June 2013), <a title=\"Sony\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/347942-Sony\">Sony<\/a> has unveiled the <a title=\"SmartWatch 2\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/540323-Sony-SmartWatch-2\">SmartWatch 2<\/a> which it claims is the first water-resistant smartwatch featuring Near Field Communications (NFC).<\/p>\n<p>In the press statement announcing the SmartWatch 2, Sony pitches the device as \u201ca second screen for your <a title=\"Android\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/221979-Google-Android\">Android<\/a> smartphone\u201d that serves as a multi-function watch, notifier, Android app interface, and phone remote control.<\/p>\n<p>The Sony SmartWatch 2 is set to feature a 1.6-inch 220&#215;176 display with the following dimensions: 41.1mm x 41.1mm x 9mm.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DoUzM7WYlP0\" height=\"338\" width=\"600\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It also complies with the IP57 water-resistance specification, charges through micro USB, and has swappable wristbands.<\/p>\n<p>The watch will work with any smartphone running Android 4.0 and later, Sony\u2019s press release said.<\/p>\n<p>Sony
