Some MWEB 3G\/HSDPA subscribers recently complained that they do not enjoy the same bandwidth rollover benefits as standard Vodacom subscribers. According to one MWEB subscriber he had not, to date, seen any bandwidth rollover.<\/p>\n
“Vodacom has already started with the new data rollover of your unused cap and the cap left in April is supposed to be rolled over to May. This hasn’t happened on my MWEB account yet,” he said.<\/p>\n
“I have queried MWEB about this a week ago, and finally today they let me know that they won’t be doing it. Vodacom has implemented the unused data roll over, MWEB is a reseller of Vodacom, but they haven’t implemented it.”<\/p>\n
MyBroadband is in possession of an email where MWEB clearly states that it “will not be implementing the roll over of unused data.” <\/p>\n
When the subscriber pointed out that Vodacom said that resellers should implement data rollover, MWEB laid the blame at the feet of Vodacom: “Vodacom had not allowed us to implement the same. But we are currently trying to liaise with them.”<\/p>\n
Bandwidth rollover now active<\/strong><\/p>\n Vodacom and MWEB were approached for comment regarding this issue on Friday, and soon thereafter the problem appeared to have been resolved. MWEB replied by email to one subscriber late on Friday that the 60 day bandwidth carry over is active.<\/p>\n Vodacom added that there seems to have been a problem between them and MWEB which may have caused difficulties with bandwidth rollover, but that this issue has been resolved. <\/p>\n On Monday MWEB also officially confirmed that its 3G\/HSDPA service includes bandwidth rollover. “Customers wanting to retrieve data information on their 3G\/HSDPA service may do so by calling MWEB directly or going to vodacom4me.co.za,” MWEB added.<\/p>\n
