{"id":82383,"date":"2013-07-17T12:06:19","date_gmt":"2013-07-17T10:06:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=82383"},"modified":"2013-07-17T14:26:20","modified_gmt":"2013-07-17T12:26:20","slug":"it-wasnt-me-vodacom-on-cell-c-network-problems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/82383-it-wasnt-me-vodacom-on-cell-c-network-problems.html","title":{"rendered":"It wasn&#8217;t me: Vodacom on Cell C network problems"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Vodacom\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/227063-Vodacom\">Vodacom<\/a> says that in the last 12 years, nothing has changed in the way it manages handover from the <a title=\"Cell C\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/213919-Cell-C\">Cell C<\/a> network to its own network.<\/p>\n<p>This follows recent statements by the CEO of Cell C, <a title=\"Alan Knott-Craig\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/224891-Alan-Knott-Craig-(Senior)\">Alan Knott-Craig<\/a>, that their network woes are mainly due to a lack of seamless handover to the Vodacom network when a subscriber falls outside Cell C coverage.<\/p>\n<p>Cell C has a national roaming agreement with Vodacom which Knott-Craig said is valid for at least a few more years.<\/p>\n<p>According to Knott-Craig, Cell C has tried to resolve the issue with Vodacom but has not been successful and will be referring the matter to the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (<a title=\"ICASA\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/226385-ICASA\">ICASA<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe quality of service provided to all our customers, including Cell C is of the highest importance to us,\u201d a Vodacom spokesperson told MyBroadband.
