href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/499704-iPad\">iPad<\/a> makes up 45% of the tablets sold in South Africa, while the rest of the market basically all belongs to <a title=\"Android\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/221979-Google-Android\">Android<\/a>, <a title=\"World Wide Worx\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/307751-World-Wide-Worx\">World Wide Worx<\/a> boss <a title=\"Arthur Goldstuck\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/221541-Arthur-Goldstuck\">Arthur Goldstuck<\/a> has told MyBroadband.<\/p>\n<p>According to Goldstuck, the Windows share of the market is almost non-existent. \u201cPerhaps 1%,\u201d Goldstuck said.<\/p>\n<p>This information follows recent data released by World Wide Worx which showed that of the roughly 1.4-million tablets sold in South Africa since June 2010, the breakdown by manufacturer was as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Apple iPads: 45% (625,000)<\/li>\n<li>Samsung tablets: 39% (545,000)<\/li>\n<li>Other brands: 16% (Huawei, Acer, Onyx, Wise Touch, Asus, BlackBerry, Colpad, Google Nexus, HP, HTC, Sony, Telefunken, and unbranded)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_83281\" style=\"width: 577px\" class=\"wp-caption id=\"caption-attachment-83281\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">World Wide Worx tablet market share stats as at end June 2013<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201c<a title=\"Samsung\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/333656-Samsung\">Samsung<\/a> is the big growth story, moving marginally ahead of Apple in units shipped,\u201d Goldstuck said when asked which brand saw the greatest growth over the past year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, it should be borne in mind that every iPad shipped is an iPad sold, whereas Samsung devices are still moving through the channel, so ultimately Apple still probably outsold Samsung in the past year,\u201d he qualified.<\/p>\n<p>Samsung and Apple are neck-and-neck, which Goldstuck said remains an incredible achievement for Apple as it has only a distribution agency in SA, namely the <a title=\"Core Group\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/306215-Core-Group\">Core Group<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Goldstuck also pointed out in a recent Sunday Times interview that Apple still dominates the 10-inch tablet PC form-factor in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>In this category, which Goldstuck said comprises premium
