Subscribers at the edge of the cell might suddenly find themselves unable to connect.

This is where the hand-over between Cell C and Vodacom needs to be seamless, Knott-Craig said, otherwise customers will have a poor experience.

Questions have been raised on whether Cell C will support seamless handover in both directions, and Knott-Craig has now confirmed that seamless handover implies handovers in both directions – from Vodacom to Cell C and vice versa.

“Technically both parties will need to collaborate to implement this for both cases. Neighbour cell relationships need to be created on both networks,” said Knott-Craig.

“Cell C is ready and able to do so but Vodacom has not delivered,” Knott-Craig said.

More on Cell C and Vodacom handover

Cell C deal with Vodacom confidential: spokesperson

Cell C out of patience with Vodacom: CEO

It wasn’t me: Vodacom on Cell C network problems

Cell C network quality complaints

Cell C CEO Alan Knott-Craig explains what is necessary to make seamless handover work between them and Vodacom

[14
681,355,35,41
post-84275","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-cellular","tag-alan-knott-craig","tag-cell-c","tag-headline","tag-vodacom
